Much improved from the first visit when newly opened. I requested a Vegan menu, which had a very good choice. In my party there was also a Vegetarian. We both liked the choices on offer. The booking process on the telephone was handled very well. We ate outside on the terrace on a lovely hot evening, although when it did get chilly the heater was put on, without a problem. We had about 3-4 people serving us, which was confusing at times, but overall a good experience, which I have already passed on to my fiends as they eagerly emailed me the next day to find out what it was like.

I had such a great time last night which was spent at the Riverbank Bar & Kitchen. I thought the Vegetarian menu could of been a bit more exciting rather than serving a ‘goats cheese salad’ though I did enjoy my main course which was on a tart with new potatoes and salad which was lovely. The weather was warm though it was a bit chilly outside even tho we had outside heaters on. I had a cocktail with a friend, thought it was a bit strong and it wasn’t mixed properly, inside the bar area, it was freezing it had cold air gushing from the air conditioners very uncomftable indeed.

I had a lovely night at the Riverbank with my friends. There was an earlybird menu available at the time we were dining, it was a good deal at £16.50 for all 3 courses! Would definetly recommend, nice, friendly faces, will be back!

Went in for lunch… it took 20 minutes to get a drink as we were told not to stand at the bar but to seat ourselves and wait for someone to take our order. We were about to leave and go somewhere else when the barman arrived with our drinks. After the hype surrounding the opening we decided to have some lunch and try out, what is supposed to be, one of Nottingham‘s newest and most talked about places to eat. The food was reasonably priced however presentation and taste didn’t match up to the reputation. The food was mediocre, the chips weren’t cooked properly and generally there was nothing to write home about. After posting a status about this on facebook I was inundated with comments from people saying a similar thing, which I can only presume is a true reflection from the public of what this place is really like. Although the surroundings are nice, and I may pop back in for a drink in the summer, I must say that I will not be going back for food.

Visited with much anticipation for my partners birthday celebration. Ordered a main course of vegetarian rissotto. Was presented to me with parmesan cheese on top, I queried this as I had already been told by the kitchen that the parmesan was not vegetarian-I had asked when ordering my starter. The waiter returned to tell me that the risotto was not vegetarain anyway as parmesan was used in the stock, despite being shown on the menu as vegetarian. Shocked and disturbed I agreed to order a vegetarian tart to be freshly cooked by the chef. I requested any veg but carrots- I hate carrots- I was then presented with a soggy circle of pastry with – you guessed it- raw carrot and courgette. The waiter apologised but refused to give us a bottle of wine as compensation, saying he could only give us a small glass each. We left for the bar in disgust while something more palitable was prepared. We eventually returned to the table to be presented with burnt courgette tart as which point we left in disgust. We are still waiting for the manager to return our call as he promised. This dish is still on the menu as of today and still shown as vegetarian! Very poor service and a huge breach of trust knowingly giving vegetarians animal products. A celebration ruined. Will never visit this place again and would advise anyone – especially vegetarians – to do likewise!
