Boys, 13, held after man’s stabbing
Two 13-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a man in a city street. A large area of St Ann’s in Nottingham was cordoned off after the 27-year-old victim was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, where he remains in a serious but stable condition, a police spokesman said.

Three Vietnamese nationals were found to be working despite being failed asylum seekers with no right to employment in the UK.

Two women, aged 22 and 47, and a 21-year-old man were temporarily released on immigration bail while the UK Border Agency takes steps to remove them from the country as soon as possible.

The business was issued with an on-the-spot penalty notice for employing illegal workers and may now face a fine of up to £30,000.

To avoid a heavy fine, the business must prove to us that it carried out the correct pre-employment checks.
