Vegetarian Restaurant

Vegetarian Restaurants

Being a Vegetarian and trying to find a decent restaurant can be a royal nightmare, but in Nottingham there are some great places to choose from. Vegetarian restaurants in Nottingham range from offering a completely vegetarian to others which do serve meat but offer a number of courses tailored for vegetarians.

Squeek is a vegetarian restaurant in Nottingham is a great place to go if you are looking for vegetarian and vegan food, it offers an ever changing menu (on a monthly basis) and can alter most of its dished to be vegan friendly as well. This vegetarian restaurant has had great reviews and is a firm favourite. It offers organic produce but at a really reasonable prices. They also offer a lot of speciality organic beers and drinks for those of you that fancy trying something new. Squeek in Nottingham has a funky décor and a friendly environment and combined with the great menu will get you wanting to visit again.

Iberico Tapas restaurant in Nottingham is a Spanish tapas bar that does a great range of vegetarian food on their menu. Although Iberico is not solely a vegetarian restaurant, it offers a wide range of vegetarian options. Iberico is a great place to visit on a night out if you are looking for that restaurant in Nottingham that caters for both the vegetarians and the meat eaters. Iberico has a beautiful interior with hard wood floors and arched ceilings that create a fantastic atmosphere. Iberico in Nottingham may not be the cheapest restaurant to go to but there is good reason for that, it has a vast selection of tapas to choose from and the setting is superb. Having said that if you are looking for lunch out this Nottingham restaurant does a set lunch menu for just £10.

So it’s Saturday night and you are looking for a great vegetarian restaurant in Nottingham… Chutney is an Indian restaurant in the centre of Nottingham that has a great appeal. As far as restaurants go Chutney has a vast vegetarian menu as well as catering for the non vegetarians. Chutney in Nottingham seats around 100 and is able to do those works parties, and with the range of menu everyone will be happy. Chutney is reasonably priced, has a wonderful menu, (which even consists of children’s options so the whole family can visit) and a friendly atmosphere. Vegetarian will be spoilt for choice at Chutney and being able to get 20% off food as well in some cases makes it even more appealing.

Finding Vegetarian restaurants like squeek can be challenging, and with very few restaurants out there that just cater solely for vegetarians it can be a bit of a pain. But with so many restaurants in Nottingham that are now intentionally expanding their menus by adding vegetarian options it makes life a lot easier to find that good quality restaurant that you know will cater for the whole group

The Noor Jahan; the best value for money Indian restaurant Nottingham has to offer

The Noor Jahan; the best value for money Indian restaurant Nottingham has to offer.

Being a thriving city, full of students, workers and commuters, Nottingham has a high demand for quick and easy food. However, as economics states, the higher the demand for a product, usually, the higher the price is charged for that product. You may find this in certain restaurants around the City of Nottingham, yet I believe that this does not apply when you visit a certain restaurant Nottingham is currently hosting.

The Noor Jahan is an Indian restaurant Nottingham modestly hides away on Mansfield Road, amid tens of take-aways and fast food shops, yet in my own personal opinion it is quite easily the best value Indian restaurant Nottingham has to offer, if not simply the best value for money restaurant Nottingham has, period.

Whilst looking for a place to dine, my friends and I came across The Noor Jahan on Mansfield road, located about 5 minutes away from our residence. After glancing at the menu we came across a deal, designed per person, that seemed to be too good to be true: one starter, one main course with a side of either naan bread or a vegetable dish, with coffee and mints to be served at the end, all for a price of £10.95. At first we decided to eat there purely because we were students (and still are) and it seemed to be the cheapest ‘real’ restaurant Nottingham had available to us (and when I say ‘real’ I mean a restaurant that cooks the food, serves it at a table, and takes the crockery away with them) and after entering, our thoughts that the food would be disappointing were all but confirmed. The restaurant was completely empty, save myself, my 4 friends, and the two members of staff. However the phrase ‘never judge a book by its cover’ was never more appropriate, nor was the idea of myself eating humble pie, despite actually dining at an Indian restaurant.

To put it simply, the food was fantastic; the starter was large enough to be a main and the main was delicious enough to be dessert. I started with an Onion Bhaji which turned out to be two of the biggest I’d seen, cooked with a truly authentic Indian taste. For the main I went for a King Prawn Tandoori which was served straight off the sizzling hot plate in front of me which counted for great showmanship. On the side I had a Keema Naan which, quite frankly was larger than my plate itself. The service was fantastic, and although the place was empty, it never felt awkward save for the first 2 minutes.

The Noor Jahan was fantastic value for money, and as I have said, in my opinion it is the best value for money Indian restaurant Nottingham has to offer. Not only was it ideal for those on a budget, but the food served was worthy of more than a mere £10.95 per head (something I hope was reflected in our tip). The only downside was the lack of people eating there, to be honest, it was an injustice, yet they showed to me that they can keep concentrated at all times.

Ben is on a hunt for the best restaurant Nottingham has to offer.

At the end of November 2009 now Grammy nominees Silversun Pickups were part of the Jägermeister Rock:Liga Tour. When the LA based band came to Rostock, Germany we had something very special prepared for them. Just one day before, in Hannover, we requested their friends Amusement Parks On Fire (from Nottingham, UK and also part of that tour) to ask some exclusive questions and arranged a very special guest to be part of the final iNterview experience. But see for yourself how Brian Aubert and Nikki Monninger dealt with the situation. We guarantee you a good time just like everybody involved had while shooting this memorable episode. As always: Make sure to stay tuned until the very end, it’s worth it. Enjoy! More about the Silversun PIckups: www.silversunpickups.com More about iNterview www.i-nterview.tv

Best reply by John A:

Well, I think you need a restaurant that can turn a meal into a special occasion.
by doing some research only you can find severals
but one that offer a wide range of traditional, continental and vegetarian cuisine, all accompanied with delicious, home made fresh bread and free vegetables.
