Independent Chartered Surveyors in Nottingham & the Nottinghamshire Area, UK

The chartered surveyor can evaluate an asset or house or the person who is responsible for planning the new construction. He will let you know how to get a planning permission. In addition, he will provide information on the property renovation and environmental issues. Most chartered surveyors are regulated by a professional association called The Royal Institute of the Chartered Surveyors.

The Nottingham surveyors offer evaluating service for existing construction project or construction project that is under renovation. By hiring a surveyor, you will know the exact value of your property because he will take into account all the possible factors such as land, machinery and etc.

The charttered surveyor offers advice for companies during the design stages of a project. The chartered surveyor will give you good advice on how to utilize the land up to the fullest benefits. They will also offer consultation with planning authorities. They will visit the building and assess every condition. After that he will give you details about the problem of the construction structure. The chartered surveyors will advice you on how to solve the structural problems in the construction project and the total costs that is involved.

When you hire a chartered surveyor, you are obtaining a professional consultation of an important investment. The service is suitable for people who are looking to sell your house at the highest possible price. They are experienced in the field so they are able to provide evaluations about the property. They will also provide instruction on how to cope with the local authorities. They are able to conduct a more thorough investigation on the construction structure than you. They have access to the necessary information that is not readily available to the public.

Homeowners can find a surveyor by referencing the yellow pages. The construction companies will recommend local surveyors. You can also refer to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors website. The RICS website allows you to find an accredited surveyor in your neighborhood. They are able to monitor the impact the building will produce on the environment. For example, they can evaluate whether the building is constructed on a polluted land. If you are a construction company, you can hire the surveyor to provide advice on large scale project including real estates and office buildings.

The surveyors you hire should poss a degree. The degree must be accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. It is important that the degree is accredited by RICS because RICS is the largest surveyor association in the United Kingdom. Besides, the surveyor must possess 2 years of practical experience before he attempt to sit for the APC exam. Certified surveyor will have the address MRICS in front of the name.

When it comes to where to stay in Nottingham when visiting this beautiful city, you have a number of choices available to you. There is everything from top of the range luxurious hotels through to the more affordable family run hotels or B&B’s (bed and breakfast accommodation).

But what you pay for your accommodation whilst staying in Nottingham will depend on just where you stay and at what time of year you visit the city. Certainly if you are intending to visit at the height of the season (summer) and book yourself in to a city centre hotel, expect to pay considerably more than you would for accommodation that is located on its outskirts.

However, if your budget is somewhat limited then there are plenty of choices for you also. One such place that is worth considering especially if visiting in the summer is The Holme Pierrepoint Camping and Caravan Site, which is located at Nottingham’s National Watersports Centre and is to the south east side of the city.

But if you would prefer a few little comforts but cannot afford hotel then why not consider the Igloo Tourist Hostel. Located close to the bus station in Nottingham it provides you with easy access to the centre of the city without the costs. But also established in this part of the city there are quite a few inexpensive and therefore affordable B&B’s as well as some hotels.

If you are however coming to the area by car then why not consider booking into accommodation that is a little further outside the city. Places like Retford, which are only a short drive from Nottingham offer good quality accommodation at a much more reasonable price. Plus much of the accommodation offers you the chance to have views that look over Nottingham Forest.

It is vital that if you are going to be visiting Nottingham at any point in the future you arrange accommodation well in advance of your vacation dates. Unfortunately, this area is extremely popular as many like to visit the area where Robin Hood lived and made sure that the poor were well cared for.

Certainly when it comes to arranging accommodation and you are looking to stay close to some of the city’s more popular attractions, then booking several months in advance is advisable. Unfortunately, if you do not you may well be disappointed.

Although you may want to visit Nottingham during the summer when the weather is likely to be at its most kindest. You should not forget about booking to visit during the earlier or latter part of the year as well. However, if you do then bring a good supply of warm clothing with you.

As mentioned previously when it comes to where to stay in Nottingham you are not restricted on the type of accommodation available. What will restrict you is more likely just how much you are willing to spend on it. But there are plenty of places to stay in Nottingham so you’re sure to find something in your budget.

Best reply by Daryl:

I would consider against moving to Hucknall. North Nottinghamshire places tend to be the roughest in the county.

There are places just outside Hucknall that are okay, Papplewick and Linby spring to mind.

Inevitably it’s your own choice and it’s where you start up home, Hucknall is an area with nice crime, but hopefully you can avoid this.

Try Loughborough or its surrounding villages. Its in between Derby, Leicester and Nottingham and has good motorway links, its only about 20 minutes drive to each city.
It is also nestled between country parks such as Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill, and you are also not too far away from the Jubilee Woods, so you get all the benefits of living near a town, and near 3 big cities, but are never far away from the countryside.

I recommend the forest side of Loughborough in particular, its quiet, well kept and very friendly, and is in the catchment area of a fantastic primary school.

There’s a place in Nottingham called Robin’s Hoods, but I heard that these guys are thieves. The Sheriff of Nottingham has had his eye on these blokes for quite some time now!

Best reply by McQ:

Basford is an interesting ethnic area of Nottingham, but not pretty. It depends what you want, for instance – Wollaton, West Bridgford, Beeston and Bramcote are middle class. There are a lot of “City living apartments – the best of which are in the very swish Lace Market area.
