"Where is the best entertainment in Nottingham?"

Stag night parties and hen party weekends are one of the best things about Nottingham in terms of entertainment for onlookers heading home from a late evening at the office rubbing their eyes wondering if they are seeing double at a bunch of beautiful nurses in their uniforms all walking down the street and the bunch of guys dressed up as Mexican dancers tying their best mate they've known for years to the lamp post with his trousers pulled down!

You will find all that happening around the Victoria Centre area after the sun has set, and as far up as the Corner House entertainment complex with cinema, restaurants, and shops (pictured above, the brightly lit building with coloured lights around the top), and up to all the bars and pubs around the University and Rock City area.

If you prefer something slightly more relaxed entertainment in Nottingham now is a great time of year to catch a play at either the Theatre Royal which has often very lavish performances, or something more modern and unusual at either Nottingham Playhouse or the more experimental Lace Market Theatre. Personally I particularly like to see comedies, especially any that are African/Caribbean. There is usually an African Caribbean Carnival held in Nottingham each year because of the relatively large African-Caribbean and other communities who live together peacefully and happily here.

There are also great restaurants serving everything from Caribbean to Moroccan to Spanish to Bangladeshi to Australian and all cuisines in-between. Value is usually reasonably good compared with other British cities. In the daytime there are many good independent cafes you can really enjoy trying all of the different delicacies on offer. In Nottingham as well as traditional British fish and chips, mushy peas and hot dogs with fried onions mustard and a dollop of tomato sauce are highly treasured!

Other popular options for entertainment in Nottingham are bowling, paintball gun games, skateboarding, swimming, art exhibitions, and museums - such as the Caves of Nottingham tour which is quite good first time, or the more interesting yet slightly macabre Galleries of Justice.

For an adrenaline rush in Nottingham you may want to have a go at karting. Several options are available. There is also a Nottingham chess club, the Nottingham Princess Cruise Line which does a river dinner and dance cruise of a very good quality, and of course there is all those Nottingham bars and clubs when you want to boogie on down!
