Folks help and advice would be appreciated. I am not familiar with the area and would appreciate your advice here. I am not keen on living either in Derby or Nottingham cities.

Try Loughborough or its surrounding villages. Its in between Derby, Leicester and Nottingham and has good motorway links, its only about 20 minutes drive to each city.
It is also nestled between country parks such as Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill, and you are also not too far away from the Jubilee Woods, so you get all the benefits of living near a town, and near 3 big cities, but are never far away from the countryside.
I recommend the forest side of Loughborough in particular, its quiet, well kept and very friendly, and is in the catchment area of a fantastic primary school.

Hi, I live in Nottingham and go to Derby regularly and there are some nice places in both cities.
Wollaton is nice in Nottingham (on the way to Derby) and sos a place called ‘Trowell’. There are some beautiful places in both of these areas.
also, Oakwood is nice in Derby and Heanor too. Perhaps u could check out both of these places.
Redhill is also nice in Arnold, Nottingham. Its on the out skirts and heads towards sherwood forest. A very nice place to live (I live here!).
Happy house hunting and I hope you find somewhere soon. Please consider all of the areas I have listed above as although they are class as Nottingham or Derby, they aren’t actually in the middle of it all.. they are on the outskirts and actually very nice places to live.
